What Matters Most To Us

 

The Great Commandment - Love

 

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself."  (Matthew 22:37-39)

 

The Great Confession - Worship

 

"Jesus asked His disciples, 'Who do you say that I am?'  Simon Peter replied, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!' ";  (Matthew 16:15-16)

 

The Great Commission - Connection

 

"Jesus said to His followers, 'I've been given all authority in heaven and on earth.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new followers to obey all the commands I have taught you and be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' "  (Matthew 28:18-20)

 

Steps We're Taking to Follow Jesus

 

Worship of God

 

As followers of Jesus, we gather weekly to celebrate His love, experience His grace and learn His truths.  God "shows up" when we gather to worship Him with openness and sincerity of heart.

 

Small Group Connection

 

We all know that it's easy to get lost in the crowd.  So, at MHC we encourage every single person to get involved in one of our small groups for the purposes of support, encouragement, prayer, the study of God's Word and the bonding of our hearts together.

 

Time Alone With Jesus

 

Many of us seem to talk more about God and not so much to God.  We look but we don't listen.  Those who walk with the Lord must spend time alone with Him in prayer and meditation upon the life-changing truths that are found in Scripture.

 

Responsibility & Accountability

 

Everything we have in life is on loan to us from God.  We don't own a thing.  It all belongs to Him and it is simply our job to use our time, treasure and talents to bring glory to His Name by working with Him in the building of His Church here and around the world.

 

Service to Others

 

The most passionate and compassionate people in the world should be Christians.  We are called to enhance every life we contact with the generosity, mercy and love of God.  The test of a true Christian is love for others demonstrated in practical ways that help.

 

Sharing with Others

 

The word "Gospel" actually means "Good News." The best news in life is all about Jesus forgiving  those who ask Him to be their Savior from sin and about Jesus giving eternal life to all who call upon Him to be their God.  Sharing  this incredible message with everyone everywhere is the most important thing we do on earth.
