| How to Become a Follower of Jesus |
| |
| Following Jesus is a
lifetime pursuit. It is a process. It is a journey.
Now just as every process begins at a point in time
and each journey commences with a first step, so
does following Jesus. The Bible makes it very clear
that following Jesus starts with establishing a
personal relationship with Him as our God and Savior.
How do we do that? Let's allow the Scriptures to
show us the answer to this most important of all
questions. |

| The Bible declares that God loves you
with all His heart and has an incredible plan for your life
- both for here and the hereafter! |

Jesus said, "I came that they
might have eternal life,
and might have it abundantly."
John 10:10 |
| |
| The Bible says that your sin has separated
you from a loving God and His plan for your life. There
is a spiritual "rift" between every person and the Lord. |
| |
Your sins have caused a relational
breakdown between you and God.
Our sin forces God to
hide His face from us.
Isaiah 59:2 |

| The Bible teaches that Jesus' gift to
us is the ability to heal that "rift" and bridge that separation.
It is through Jesus, that you can come to know and experience
God personally. |

Jesus said, "I am the way, and
the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father,
but through Me."
John 14:6 |

| The Bible tells us that each of us must
individually ask the Lord Jesus Christ to be our personal
God and Savior. This marks the starting point of the eternal
and fantastic relationship with God that He desires to have
with each of us! |

To as many as receive Him,
Jesus gives the right to become children of God.
This
happens when you believe in His Name.
John 1:12 |

| To become a follower of Jesus, you must
ask Him to enter your life as your God and Savior, to forgive
your sins and to make you His child. How do you do this?
By praying something similar to this: |

Dear Lord Jesus,
I acknowledge
to You that I am a sinner.
I ask You to be my Savior
and God.
Thank You for paying the price for my sin.
I want to belong to You forever and
know You personally,
starting right now, today.
Thank You, Jesus, Amen. |
