In Matthew 28:18-20,
Jesus gives his followers an incredible challenge. It has
come to be known as the Great Commission and along with
the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) and the Great Confession
(Matthew 16:15-16) is one of three Biblical passages Mission
Hills Church (MHC) has chosen to define God's reason for
embedding us in this world.
In the Great Commission,
Jesus states, "I have been given all authority in heaven
and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and
the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the
commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with
you always, even to the end of the age."
With these
words of Jesus in mind, it is our desire to provide opportunities
for everyone at MHC to experience walking with Jesus as
his witness in the world. MHC has three distinct avenues
to help each of us develop and strengthen our individual
and corporate witness. We work alongside local, global and
compassion ministries and missionaries to see the Good News
of Jesus Christ shared and the church established and strengthened
in their areas of influence. |
