I have been married to Rose
for 13 years and have three lovely daughters, Cassie
(9), Jenna (7) and Sadie (3). I came to Mission
Hills 3 1/2 years ago to serve as the Associate Pastor
and am currently serving as the Interim Senior Pastor.
Being a member of
the search team is exciting for two reasons. 1) As
a member of the staff, the next Senior Pastor will not
simply be my "boss" but will be a partner in ministry.
2) It will be fun to watch God in the details of the
search process. I can't wait to see who God has in mind
to lead MHC into the future.

I first began attending MHC when
I was eleven years old. I was actively involved in
the church until I left the area to attend college.
When my wife, Karen, and I moved back to the area in
1991, God led us back to MHC because of their emphasis
on young families.
Today, my college and high
school age sons are actively involved in their own
respective groups as well as serving in the Lightforce
and Junior High ministries. I currently serve on
the board of elders and my wife is on ministry staff.
I love the casual, family feel there is at MHC.
Our small group has been a great blessing and a source
of encouragement. I admire the way the
congregation loves to step up and serve wherever and
whenever there's a need.
I am excited about what
God has in store for MHC and I look forward to seeing
God's hand in the process of finding a new pastor.
Please keep the pastoral search team in your prayers.

In 1990, I started attending
Mission Hills Church worship services and women's Bible
studies. My ministry service has covered a wide
range as I worked in the information booth in the
Underground, I am currently coordinator for Prison
Fellowship's Angel Tree Christmas program, Someone Cares
Soup Kitchen ministry and the annual Birth Choice Baby
Shower. I volunteer one morning a week answering
the church phones and have been a co-leader for my
women's Bible study small group.
My daughters,
Karen and Amy, came to MHC in 1988 at the invitation of
a school friend. They were active in the youth
group throughout their junior high and high school
years. Karen (now 35) is married to Dmitrii and
lives in Santa Barbara; Amy (33) lives in San Diego.
I was blessed to have two distinct and wonderful
careers: stay-at-home mom for 19 years, and
software engineer for 18 years. I retired from
engineering in 2007.
Mission Hills Church holds a
special place in my heart. Solid Biblical teaching
and a heart for community service have always
characterized this body. I'm honored to be a part
of the pastor search team and am confident that God will
lead us to His special man to shepherd us in the coming
years.

My name is Mark O'Connor and I
live in Mission Viejo with my wife, Jeanette, daughter,
Lauren, and son, Patrick. My career has been split
between the Automotive and RV industries in both the
wholesale and retail sides of the business.
Jeanette and I are very active at Mission Hills. I
currently serve as an usher in the church and teach in
one of the adult Sunday school classes. I also
tried my hand at acting this spring during the church's
Living Supper performance as Lazarus. Jeanette
serves in the Children's Sunday school along with Lauren
and we both are members of Cornerstone Community School
Board where Lauren recently graduated and Patrick is now
in 4th grade.
One Sunday over five years
ago, Jeanette and I were invited by another couple to
attend their church. We have been attending MHC
ever since. We love the closeness of the community
here and the wisdom of so many of the attendees.
We have learned to lean on the wisdom of several of
these people as we have navigated through our walk.
We have established some very strong friendships here at
Mission Hills. I am excited to be on the search
committee to find the new pastor for our church to see
who God will reveal to lead this church family during a
critical time in our nation's history.

I am getting ready to celebrate my 18th wedding
anniversary with my wife, Mary. We have two kids,
13 year old Rebecca and 12 year old Seth. We have
been coming to Mission Hills since 1994. I have a
Masters Degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola
University and went on a short-term missions trip to
Sudan in 2008. I am currently serving as Secretary
on the Elder Board and I recently joined the board for a
second term. I have served MHC in a number of
positions. I am currently facilitating an adult Sunday
school class and I am also a member of the Missions
Committee.

My husband, Dennis, and I have
been at Mission Hills Church for ten years and our
daughter, son-in-law and grandkids have been here for
twelve years. I am a part of the Worship-Drama
team and volunteer as a receptionist once a week.
My husband is now serving as an usher. Biblical
teaching a good worship experience are why we are here.
We also enjoy our Sunday school class as it challenges
us to think more deeply in terms of faith matters.
I have a teaching degree and background and have
spent many years involved in Children's Ministry.
My personal passion is Bible study. I have been
involved with BSF and CBS for 24 years. I will be
doing Precepts this year at Mission Hills.
I feel
that our church is in a very good place right now.
We have a wonderful and united church family who
willingly serves with any and all gifts. We are
looking forward to what God has for us as far as a new
pastor and the direction this church will take in days
to come.
